A gluten free pizza base that is full of nutrients good for your gut!

We here at Gut Happy HQ are obsessed with anything cauliflower. Cauliflower rice, slice, loaf, bread and of course pizza bases!

This is a great gut nourishing base for all to enjoy.

It’s super simple and yummy, you can make a big batch and freeze it or eat it all in one go!

Just remember that cauliflower pizza bases are best eaten with a knife and fork!

Makes 1 large pizza

 
 

Ingredients

  • 330gm cauliflower florets, roughly chopped

  • 50gm almond meal

  • 25gm parmesan cheese, grated

  • 1 egg

  • ¾ teaspoon sea salt and pepper

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 clove garlic, minced or 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/3 cup pizza base sauce (I make my own)

  • 1 tsp Meadow and marrow bone broth of your choice

  • 1 Tbs Gut Happy Partially Hydrolyzed Guar Gum (good gut food)

  • Cheese & toppings of your choice!

 

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius.

  2. In a food processor place cauliflower florets and process for 10 seconds until roughly broken down into smaller pieces. 

  3.  Add almond meal, parmesan cheese, egg, salt, pepper, garlic and dried oregano to the cauliflower mix. 

  4.  Blend for a further 20 seconds or until well combined.

  5. On a pre-lined baking place cauliflower mix in a circle (or rectangle) shape 

  6. Using a spatula smooth out the cauliflower circle until approximately 7mm thick.

  7. Bake in a pre-heated oven for 20 minutes or until golden.

  8. Take out of oven and top with pizza sauce, ensure to reach all edges.

  9. Cover entire pizza base with grated cheese and toppings of your choice

  10. Place back in the oven for a further 5-10 minutes or until cheese has melted and turned golden.

  11. Serve immediately.
